Welcome to the website of Carol Maize BSc (Hons), DBTh, MIRCH Registered Medical Herbalist.
I am a registered consultant herbalist and prescribe herbal medicines as well as offering nutritional advice. I work mainly from a clinic in Morpeth, Northumberland (easily accessible from the A1), but live in Gateshead and am prepared to consider home visits or hold consultations in other locations where needed.
I prescribe herbal medicines using mostly organic herbs, some of which I grow myself, while others are wildcrafted. I also use flower essences. Each medicine is tailored to the needs of the individual patient.
I work naturopathically, encouraging the body to rebalance and thus heal itself, and I educate the patient in self help and maintaining good health, once achieved. In this way I treat both men and women of all ages with a variety of problems, ranging from minor, but irritating disorders, to chronic ill health conditions.
Once the correct cause of the disease condition has been identified and the body helped to rebalance using herbs, then it is possible to achieve a state of health and vitality that is long lasting.
I am also available to run introductory courses on herbal medicine and speak to various special interest groups on a variety of associated subjects.
